Family Therapy

Family Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that specializes in improving communication between family members and strengthening family relationships.

It is a psychotherapy that helps individuals and families deal with change (e.g. adolescence, loss, separation, etc.) while enhancing connections between family members.

Family Therapy is particularly effective in dealing with the following issues:

  • Strengthening family relationships
  • Dealing with separation and loss
  • Parenting dilemmas
  • Adolescent issues
  • Mental Health issues
  • Communication difficulties in the family
  • Eating Disorders
  • Changes in the family

While it may be useful for the whole family to attend a session this is not always possible for a variety of reasons.

Often I might ask parents to attend part of a session and I may meet with the child/teenager separately for the remainder of the session.
